PAWS & PEOPLE / NANCY TANNER

While Paws & People / NANCY TANNER will do it’s best to give you accurate information, training guidance, and/or a treatment plan, we cannot guarantee success. There are many factors that we cannot control; owner compliance, dogs genetics, consistency, early socialization, and environment. We will advise you, but cannot be responsible for you or your dogs’ actions.

OWNERS AGREEMENT

You certify that your dog (over 6 months of age) is current on a Rabies vaccination or your puppy (under 5 months) is currently on a safe vaccination schedule and has received the first round of puppy shots. You certify that your dog/puppy is in good physical health, and able to participate in group/or private classes.

You understand that you are totally responsible for my dog’s actions, before-during-after class.

You agree to bring doggy clean up bags and clean up after your dog/puppy.

You also understand that training is a physical activity and requires moving around, walking on uneven surfaces during all weather conditions. You need to be in good physical health and take full responsibility for your actions as well as your dogs.

If your dog/puppy is not feeling well or acting right you agree to call your veterinarian for advice before coming to class.

Training takes; time, patients and practice for both the dog and the person, you agree to spend time training with your puppy/dog every day and working on strengthening our relationship. You also agree to good management and benevolent boundaries while your puppy/dog is young so that they can be successful.

PREPARING FOR YOUR CLASS OR APPOINTMENT

WE DO NOT HAVE A PUBLIC RESTROOM

TEMPERATURE/WEATHER – we work in all weather – snow, sun, cold, rain, wind, sun – from 15 degrees to 90 degrees –I will reschedule your appointment if the temperatures are colder than 15F or warmer than 90F. If you have a northern breed, we can work in temps right around zero.

HEALTH – You and your dog must be healthy and physically able to work together – if either of you have – fleas, ticks, ear mites, pink eye, snotty nose, spasmy back, etc – PLEASE CALL TO RESCHEDULE. If you do arrive and it is clear you or your puppy is unwell, I will ask you to take care of health first, and refund your appt. with the exception of a $45 office charge.

GEAR – we allow flat buckle collar, we prefer a harness, 4-6 foot leash, no flexi leads. We do not allow or recommend e-collars, choke chains, or pinch/prong collars.

REWARDS – Please do not feed your dog for at least 3-4 hours before our session. Rewards are what your dog finds rewarding, food treats should be whole meat that is either cooked, dried, or freeze dried. Please stay away from ‘crappy fast food’ treats with grains and sugars and salts. That will upset your dog’s tummy. You can also bring your dogs meal with you if it is close to their meal time, along with other higher value rewards. NOTE – if you forget rewards or bring something inappropriate or that your dog doesn’t like – we’ve got you covered – we have nutritious rewards available for purchase in our Puppy Pantry. You can also order ahead of your appointment and have your rewards ready for you when you arrive.

BRING - rewards, potty bags, leash, collar, harness, coat (if your dog needs a coat this time of year)

CLOTHING – We work outside – please be prepared.

FOR YOUR DOG - If your puppy needs to be coated in winter months, PLEASE bring their coat or sweater with you, for their comfort with our changing weather.

FOR YOU – winter clothing and boots, old clothing, we are a farm and you have a puppy, just sayin’. Please dress for the weather or changing weather, this is your responsibility and for your comfort - NO flip/flops, sandals, high heels, or athletic spiked shoes.

REFUND POLICY

Once you pay you are agreeing to the date and time of your appointment/class. Once you have paid there are NO - refunds, transfers, rescheduling. Please make sure this is the correct service for you, that the dates and times work for your schedule, before you pay. Your payment is your agreement to these terms and policies.

NOTE AGAIN- Our Group Classes are small with limited space, please make sure the date and time you want will work for you, once you book your classes there is no re-scheduling or refunds.
